Reveal Your Age

Old enough to have seen all installments of Karpov-Kasparov (some only very vaguely so) and to thus instantly associate Prokofiev's "Dance of the Knights" piece of classical music with the almost annual K-K battle on the BBC. Aah, the times when the BBC used to broadcast Chess games live and fully analysed on the airwaves in the UK. Most were for Kasparov, so I was thus automatically for underdog Karpov, in these games.

Both mighty close qua abilities to each other. Once they never again matched-up post 1990 in a WC Final, they then both smashed all they met aka Short, Anand for Kasparov and Timman, Kamsky and Anand for Karpov. Then both withdrew some time later. Both still only each others rivals for at least until well past the millenium

Both should have probably met each other at least another 2~3 times in their absolute prime. Same as with McEnroe-Borg etc. Or Bird vs Magic. Did not happen. Shame it did not. Karpov could have easily nicked a win, if the match-up had gotten prolonged - so close was this unique battle between these two titans of the game.

K-K was broadcast live in almost all of Europe on live TV (UK, Germany for sure - Russia too). Nowadays Chess only online to enjoy.

Everyone thinks I'm 18 because of my username.
But I was NOT born in 2000. I'm NOT 18 years old.
