The average lag of an opponent must be shown in the game.

It's malignantly to play with people, who have a big lag. Because when we play we usually feel how much time an opponent spend on moves, and we intuitively variate our speed, without watching on clock. Because we can't simultaneously do these two things: playing and watching clock.
When we play with laggers, it seems like they spend a lot of time on moves, but their time always returns back. Because it feels like they play slow, we also lower our speed of playing. It's just a common strategy. We try to be fast, but if an opponent is slow, we spend more time to make better moves. But the problem is that laggers don't make moves slow, it just feels so, and their time returns always back. And often you realize this too late. It's really difficult to recognize a lagger always.
So a lag of an opponent must be always shown. So we will know exactly, is it our opponent slow, or is it just his high lag. And will variate our speed knowingly.
This would cause a lot of discrimination and for nothing. Just because they live far away from France and dont have a good connection it doesnt mean they should be avoided
You didn't understand what I wrote. I didn't mean to show their average lag in the profile. I talk about showing their average lag in the process of a game. Now can't you see that somebody have a big lag? If you are not blind, you can see that. But, as it is now, we notice it too late, when our time runs straight to zero.
They still would be blocked after the first game just because they have a high lag so yeah, i understood what you meant :)
LOL latruncotempusfugitaphobia... the act of hating or discriminating against online chess players with lag :D

latruncolarius = chess in Latin
tempus fugit = time flies :D

Improvements at all?
You know what you are talking about, Toutatis. :)

"I hate playing 0+1, 1/2+0 and 1+0 against laggers. Their clock goes down to 0 but they don't lost. You make a move and then their clock is on 1.5 seconds again. It's like trying to kill a big mad wasp.

Then, after they lose, they tell you all about it. Or about how they don't have a mouse. Or their ping is 9 million."
Do players get compensation time for playing a premove?
Premoves should cost 0.25 seconds to the player that uses the feature. Everyone knows it takes a minimum of time to prep the premove. Maybe then the time scale might be a bit more fair.

Maybe all that is required is have Country selectable tournaments.
A bit like we have private tournaments, but we have the option of making it public and when it is announced the flag is shown with title of tournament: (Example) CAN-Hourly Classical
Maybe make servers in different countries. In Russia, USA, Australia, etc. So, people would play with people from their country or close countries, and experience very low lag. That would be nice in the future, when Lichess will have 50 000 players online.
