The Daily Chess960 Arena is just classical chess. The pieces are not random from the beginning. Could you please fix this?

Has anyone actually had a 960 game where the position just happened to be normal or is it avoided (in which cas it should be called Chess959)?

Either way, I would not change the name. It's not about maths, it's about marketing. Chess960 is a well-known identifier (brand) for that variant. So even 'if Chess959' were more accurate, it wouldn't be a positive change because it loses the recognisability of the name.

Too late for that now. :) Chess960 is still far, far more catchy and memorable. Again, this isn't about logic, it's about feeling, about marketing. The guy who came up with the name knew what he was doing. Better than 'Fischerandom' for sure, especially for international audiences.
To mCoombes314 and Hellball: yes, I have had chess960 games with the exact same opening position as in classical chess. It happens in 1 out of 960 games, so the term chess960 is accurate.
Thibault: The error is still there, we got only classical chess games in the Daily chess960 today also, but with chess960 castling rules.... i dont want to be too persistent, but could you give a note in this forum when you have found the error? Thanks ....
