Lichess updates with rated games in play.

Lichess either shouldn't allow players to start rated games right before an update is about to start, or at the very least; should warn players first.

Ideally, lichess would do staged roll-outs and updates so games in progress can continue, and with new games starting on the updated servers...

I'm very unhappy about my rating loss, given I tried to make a move for nearly 3m with lichess helpfully telling me that servers were updated, while I watched my time tick down...

I agree. While I don't mourn the loss of my rating, I would have liked to see my game play out with my rook sac for a bishop and pawn. Just a shame, and quite annoying that there was no heads up.

There always is a heads up, 10 minutes before the actual restart and it was there this time too.

Lichess unfortunately doesn't rollback the rating changes though.

@vishytheplayer What if someone starts a long game, say 15+0, and few minutes later, receive a warning that lichess would restart in 10 minutes. Assuming they need more than 10 minutes to complete the game, what should they do? Agree upon a mutual draw?

Not sure, but a valid question.

I lost my Rapid game too, in hindsight, I should have offered a draw.
