It would be a lot of fun if we could make (unrated) tournaments based on custom positions. For example, here are some FEN strings of interesting positions to play -
nnnnnnnk/nnnnnnnn/nnnnnnnn/nnnnnnnn/BBBBBBBB/BBBBBBBB/BBBBBBBB/KBBBBBBB w - -
RNBKQBNR/PPPPPPPP/8/8/8/8/pppppppp/rnbkqbnr w - -
rnbqkbnr/pppppppp/rnbqqbnr/pppppppp/PPPPPPPP/RNBQQBNR/PPPPPPPP/RNBQKBNR w KQkq -
those were fun on icc back in the day
Hey
@penguingim1 , how did the tournament go?
I saw that you signed up for the World open in Pennsylvania for next weekend. Good luck!
I'd like to see knightmare chess tournaments:
isn't that a forced win in 3 fro white? lol
This is really scary.
#5 I don't know, Stockfish refused to analyze it. :-)
For the first one, the bishops win; They have a +17 advantage from the start.
For the second and third one, white wins; They have a +4 and +2.7 advantage from the start.
The third one is kinda cool though, and this feature would be nice.
The engine saying these positions are +4 and +2.7 don't mean "white wins". They're such ridiculous positions that engine evaluations would be meaningless.
Second variant is ridiculously funny (and challenging!) but there are very short games with unexperienced players like Mr. Stockfish lvl 1:
1...Nc3 is the only move for black!
