Sudden DNS problems

In the middle of a tourney my DNS server quit providing the lichess.org address. Weird thing is that I have a secure browser using an alternate DNS server and it is just fine but my other browsers using the BrightHouse cable default DNS server cannot see the site -- EVEN when I give them the IP address 37.187.205.99 !! How weird is that??
Just FYI, I switched the DNS server numbers to those provided at use.opendns.com/
and now I get lichess just fine.
I wonder if brighthouse saw all the traffic and decided to "scrub" lichess from its DNS server...
The dns server where the ip is configured seems to have some issues and sometimes doesn't respond. opendns/google seems to either have a good cache or is retrying harder than other servers.

#1 You can't use lichess without a hostname, the ip will just redirect to en.lichess.org
You can type the IP in explicitly, but the first page that loads will have DNS names that need to be resolved, so you won't get far.

Has anyone figured out what happened? Seems to be fine now for Google DNS and other major providers.

----

Lichess has banned me from tournaments because 2% of my games were resigned after I lost a piece in the opening. I'm leaving the site as a result, and will no longer be donating. Well done mods!
