Supported lichess.org for XX months as a Patron

Did that happen to you too? I'm supporting lichess for 14months but after 12months the monthly message shows "Supported lichess.org for 2 months as a Patron" - somehow omitting the 1year .... is it a common bug?
Not really I think. I think it counted how much time you just recently “bought” to be a patron
Yeah, it's more or less a known problem. The thing is, the months weren't really counted previously. They were supposed to be but there was a bug which made it never increase so you always got a "supported for 1 month" message (or a never changing "supported for x months" if you were one of the few people that were a patron before this bug and had a higher months count stored).

This was fixed recently but ofc we still don't know the actual months count since some people might not have stayed a patron continuously since there first time (which is the other stored and displayed date). So essentially, for most people it's now counting the months they have been a patron starting a week or so ago (plus one or two months I guess).

Not sure if there's a good solution for this. Maybe we should just give everybody as many months as the "patron since" date would imply, even if it wouldn't be quite right for some people. But that seems fairer for all the other patrons that actually have supported Lichess for all that time.
re:benwerner

thank you for the info

Being really enthusiastic about free chess learning tool for patzers like me I'm happy to support lichess.org somehow. It is the first free tool that doesn't ask anything of you for giving you so much! And that is why I try to support lichess giving what I can. Please keep up the great job lichess!
@RasicAll Ok, we just set everybody's month count as I proposed now. Looking at some people on lichess.org/patron that just renewed, it seems to be correct now. The existing messages on the profile timeline won't be updated though so you'll have to wait until next month for that.
