Prof rock/metal

I came across this song "Elan" by Nightwish which caught my attention with its great melody and strong female lead singer. Driving, I found myself singing along with visions of fronting a metal band. I think you will prefer Floor Jansen's version over mine.
If you want a more classical take you could try the superb prog rock band Sky. They took classical music and turned it into prog rock. Here's their take on Bach. The level of musician ship tat goes into doing this. Just wow. They were huge in the 70's and early 80's. Look up Herbie Flowers - a legend.

FC gave me a horsey, lol. Please don’t let my mom-vibe deter you from giving the song a listen -- it’s really quite good! I may be a homely alto in a small church choir but I can recognize extraordinary vocal chops when I hear ‘em.

Great video, Vegemite_Fighter -- I'll have to look into their music.
@rachel8 My favourite Sky tune was this one:

As an old timer I have them all on cassette! I don't know what fidelity the person uploaded this to. But it sounds slightly off. Still, it is great. When you look at their individual members Sky were for all intent a super group. John Williams playing guitar on this.

#14 -- @Vegemite_Fighter, terrific song! Thanks for introducing me to this band! Wow, I can't believe you have their albums on cassette. Do they still sound good and do you still have something to play them on?

Edit: Tbh, I still have some cassettes, too, but I can't remember the last time I played one. Nowadays I either stream or sometimes play a cd.
@rachel8 That is a good point! I don't have a cassette player any more! I had a weird request about 5 years ago. A person posted an ad asking for cassette tapes of any music; he was going to go on a long road trip and his car had a cassette player! I answered and gave him cassettes of Blondie, Johnny Cash and Jennifer Rush. I wanted to clear some space.
Just listened to Fates Warning for the first time. I wasn’t too impressed.

BTW, I listen to most of my music on my discman, but I do have a cassette player somewhere.
