Hans Niemann beats Levon Aronian in 21 moves

The reason for Aronian's defeat is, first of all, his extremely weak game in this game. As for Nieman's game, his moves are difficult to explain, they are not very logical from the point of view of the game of people. But I personally don't see any special crime in this.
just not respecting the new school opponent at this point i thinks ...
Hans recognizes that psychology is an important component in chess, and he prepares these strange moves to unsettle his opponent which can sometimes induce inaccuracies or even blunders as in this game.
Does Aronian always fianchetto KB here? Perhaps Niemann is happy to forgo a tempo to entice a fianchetto pawn structure on K-side with Bd3? Just asking.
Sorry, didn't see comment 11.
Worth noting that these moves do NOT suggest cheating in this game. More that he may be using his reputation to upset his opponents by playing bizarre moves, so they are spending more time wondering about whether he is cheating than what their plan should be...
Nieman has gotten to be an engine-like player incredibly fast. Hmm.
Niemann is the new king and he has really good intuition. His first bishop move to d3 was to protect e4, then after he moved the pawn to f3, he was better move back his bishop to e2 to protect his king side against those black knights that he anticipated could attack that side later on g4 after his king would be exposed by advancing the pawns on that side.
