Are you insane? You endanger my child

@lokomis I know that this is also possible, but it isn't trivial at all. If I only allow lichess, app updates won't work anymore.
If I need to administer something on that tab, I will be restricted too.

What about non-tech-affine parents?
So who is insane in your opinion, after all? Why does your son think chopped heads are more interesting than chess?
Let's be real here, lichess didn't 'endanger' your child. He saw people playing fortnite...I game designed for kids to play. Nice try though.
The "stack overrun" execution is a common method of getting out of the system limits. There are too many apps alowing aribtrary code execution, and too many systems.

For kids control - I advice using an app that blocks/ proxy/ net communication on a system level - including the image recognition and text scanning (some time ago lichess allow embeddding images from imgur but that has changed i think). So that child won't be abused even after getting out of the "sandbox". Kid would need to reinstall its system to get through :)
I agree with OP,

the side loaded browser should be removed in kids mode.

I dont think anyone would want this feature in kids mode.
We'll remove links to the Internet from the app when kid mode is active. That was a oversight on our side, but I don't think it makes us insane.
Thanks for all constructive contributions and for your understanding in a for me emotional subject.
It is not Lichess's responsibility to safeguard your son's internet access, it is your own.

Install filtering software on your network to prevent the access to any sites you deem are unsuitable, or sit with your son while he uses the tablet and supervise.
