Imaginary Question

Does anyone know what this means? (Contains math!)

"Sorry, you have reached an imaginary number. Please rotate your phone by 90 degrees and try again".
Yes, I recognise this line from an xkcd comic strip.
It is a pun on "imaginary", an "imaginary" phone number could mean an invalid number or one that is not in use, while an imaginary number in mathematics is one that has no real part, the square root of -1 being the most well-known example.
Rotating a phone keypad by 90 degrees and typing with he same movements again would normally result in a different (presumably the correct or "real" number) number (the digit "0" may cause issues), and rotating an imaginary number by 90 degrees around zero yields a real number.
Contextual reference?

It could either be a practical joke by a developer, or, intentional (a warning that a phone app doesn't work in either horizontal or vertical orientation). It could mean that calculations are being done improperly (i.e. trying to take an even root of a negative number).

Could be any number of things.

Contextual reference would be helpful.
imaginary number?

are you talking about: i=sqrt(-1) but idk about the rotating phone thing
