why are some people such a jerk

12 year old boys thinking they are as tough as adult men.
It's logical that a topic with complaints about disabling takebacks runs out of control. Asking for takeback is claiming to be not responsible for what you're doing mostly. If having several "mouseslips" in a month asking for takeback is asking others for caring of the consequences of the behaviour underlying those mistakes. In a chessgame!!!! Instead of being horriyied about this the world is blamed for being unfair.

Narcissm is the humans primary disease.

"why are some people such a jerk"

I'll try to answer from what I know so far (I'm 37 years old).

The term "All people are born equal" is false. They are born different in nature, and have different life experiences, and, most imporant - they Choose differently - Mainmonides states that every person can be as righteous as Moses, and as evil as Jeroboam.

When I was a teen, I ask someone what he like to do most, he innocently said "I like to spark a dispute between people"...

Another one once said, "they're something fun about annoying somebody".

I was, tried to understand why people do it, why is it so fun, so on the interent (Yahoo! Chess), I delibaretly annoyed someone. I honestly didn't feel any fun doing so... it didn't feel like anything.

That's it...

Once I played here some chess, I offered a takeback to someone, (he blundered), he asked me why, I said 'just mercy', he said, 'no mercy lol' and declined the takeback... - some people either want, or are very regulated (up to a point of not seeing any other option as legitimate), to have it tough.

Good day!

All people are equal. Exaggerating this sentence is devaluating it. They are equal in value. All differ in physis and psyche.

In the days of the french revolution there was a sentence supporting this by irony. "The law treatens everybody equal. It is forbidden to sleep beyond bridges for the poor and the rich."

Respecting people means taking their actions serious. If they decide to annoy other people they will be treated like annoying people. Not each time, but often enough.
Ok stop all of you.
Conclusions:
1) Jerk is not a foul word in any way, and while it can be rule, in this case, it is just the OP showing frustration. The OP could have expressed it in a better way, however. @Neustart is also right on #62.
2) @obladie was not shaming (or I don't see how he was shaming at all). There is no point in arguing about that.
3) Why have we gone on tangents for more than half this forum?
4) Why is this on off topic forums when it is supposed to be on lichess feedback? Things wouldn't have gone out of hand on "Lichess feedback".
5) @AHappyBee We are from Antarctica and we can live in the cold. But yes, the world is very mean indeed. However, we must believe that there is still good in the world. That's how to survive.
