I think it'd be a wonderful idea to organize tournaments for bots here on lichess

Ok but not bullet games, maybe 3 mins+2 sec per move or 5 mins tournament.
yea but first it would be nice to have a lobby access for bots too! bots became unpopular because noone will wait up staring at the empty lobby awaiting challenges. :/
I think (especially with chessprogramming.wikispaces.com/ closing) tournaments between a variety of open-source engines could be interesting (not just Multi-Variant SF and Leela).
If someone wrote a simplified server using the same protocol as lichess (or even has the wit to fork leela) we could all point our bots at that server to compete.
no leela fork needed, leela is just a client just like any other bot. The lichess-bot python code already does a decent translation from UCI to lichess protocol - and the server code is open sourced as well, but having a bot lobby here is much less effort I think - and continues the human vs bot element that can be interesting.
btw: I have not managed to get any engine other than stockfish to work properly on lichess and not constantly loose on time. Anybody?
