Many many people are on lichess, that's why I ask for it on lichess site.
Can one explain why all variants have always the standard starting position ?
The word "variant" means "different".
Where is the problem with setting random position for (almost) all variants ?

@frankie-goes FischyVishy has been analyzing all 960 starting positions of atomic to depth 40. There are some equalish positions and some almost forced win for white positions. So randomly choosing from 960 might not be a good idea because some positions may give white an overwhelming advantage (I recall one position which had +10).

In unrated games, it's not important to have an initial position advantage, and, anyway, the wheel of random turns from a game to another. Starting with always the same position is so boring. After several games, we play always the same first moves, as robots (that's why I only play chess960, though I love antichess).
Considering your remark, my request would me: "could we have the OPTION of a having a random position in variants such as antichess, 3-check chess, king of hill, crazyhouse ... ?"
Last remark: for the horde variant, I was told that having the pieces or the pawns was not equal at all !

Your Chess960 Rating is 1687. At that level a regular chess game from starting position 518 (regular chess starting position) would deviate from any other game ever played by maximum move 10. It is not boring at all.

@frankie-goes Noone cares about rating. It's just not fun when white has a +10 advantage on move 0.
