When creating a new tournament, a check or uncheck of "Private" populates the Time Control and Duration to each's default setting.
Yeah I saw that on your stream. The technical reason is that time controls and durations choices are different for public and private tournaments. Private tournaments can use much longer time controls.
That's why the private checkbox comes first in the form.
However I recognize the usability issue, but I don't have an obvious solution at the moment.
Maybe a "this has changed" notification could flash next to the time control fields?
