That being said, I tried a practice game against the weak bot: the new condition seems to help defense, a lot. Time will say, but I'm unsure about the variant (all pieces are initially protected by pawns). We should try playing it online someday.
Also, if you wanna play against a human opponent, stay on the main page vchess.club and click on "New game" (then select 'Vchess' variant and adjust settings :) ).
