Does anyone here really enjoy reading?

I'm really into books! I'm wondering if anyone else here is, too. I like reading romance novels, science-fiction-fantasy, and nonfiction about nutrition, biology, and politics.
Yep, I like reading! I read... what, I read a few pages of this thick chess book every day at night, usually in bed. Doesn't matter if I turned of the lights.

I don't just enjoy chess books, though; I have shelves of books and there are many good fiction stories. Of course, you can always find good books at a library.

:)
@midnight_madrigal
Hallo midnight.
Yes; I love to read.

"Hack and slash" books are my favorite (sword play and such)

Of Course Song of Ice and Fire; then others I have enjoyed immensely and would highly recommend are:

Kingkiller Chronicles (3 book series; 2 released 1 upcoming)
The Way of Shadows (3 book series; complete)
Ravens Shadow Series (Starts with Blood Song) ~ The first book of this series was absolutely EPIC. The next two couldn't compare; but were still enjoyable.
To a lesser extent; the Malazan Books; there are like 13 of them; which is why its lesser. Just too much. They are great though; if you can keep track of whats going on.

Also thoroughly enjoyed the Ender saga; most of it anyway.
The Left Behind books were great; if you know about revelations its a pretty cool fictional account of what it might be like.

I've read everything by James Patterson; IDK why. I dont even like his books that much (cept for Long came a spider and a couple others); Same for Dean Koontz.
Koontz' books are hit or miss. The odd thomas series is pretty good.

Anything by Stephen King. Favorite is probably Tommyknockers since its just so weird.

If you haven't read them; and you are into scifi/fantasy; definitely go read Kingkiller Chronicles. They are absolutely amazing. I enjoyed them more than SoIaF.

Anywho; hopefully one or two of these will strike your fancy. .

My favourite books you might want to check out.

the collector - John Fowles
Red Dragon - Thomas Harris
The stranger - Albert Camus

I'm actually on the lookout for an end of the world type book. Something like the stand or the road. Any suggestions welcome.
Yep, I do enjoy reading, lately I've been reading The series of unfortunate events by Lemony Snicket although I am generally oriented towards classics amongst which I would separate:

The master and Margarite by Bulgakov
To kill the Mockingbird
1984
@NeverBeenTimid

I love Apocalyptic and Post Apocalyptic books and movies. I can throw some suggestions your way. I've read a lot of them; trying to remember which ones I enjoyed the most.
Here we go:

On the Beach
The Age of Miracles
The Drowned World
A Canticle For Leibowitz
The Stone Sky
The Earth Abides
Sleepless
Random Acts of Senseless Violence

To a Lesser Extent:
I am Legend was actually pretty decent (book the Will Smith movie; or its original Omega Man; was about)

I know there are more that I'm not thinking of. LMK if you've read all these and I'll figure out what the other ones are I liked.
Got all my old books lining shelves in the garage; I need to take a peek at em.
@breakreign I've actually either read or owned a lot of those books. I have book one of the Malazan series but I haven't read it yet. I'm currently reading Joe Abercrombie's series (First Law, I think?); it's like a cross between Ice and Fire and Mistborn. I like it a lot! :D

@NeverBeenTimid The Collector is one of my favorite books!!!! If you enjoyed that, you should check out Dot Hutchinson's Butterfly Garden. I'm pretty sure it was inspired by The Collector and it is just as creepy.

@DollaHollaAtcha Those are great recs! For a post-apocalyptic, I'd alsorecommend Jose Saramago's Blindness. It's a lot like The Road, in my opinion, and is even written in the same style. J.G. Ballard's High Rise is also good.

@PetarBosnjak Ha that's awesome! I love the classics too. Do you enjoy fantasy/sci-fi the most out of all the genres?
I'm into classics as well, To kill a mockingbird was a nice read, although I don't remember it all to well, for I've read it maybe ten years ago. Some books I really like are:
Look homeward, angel (Thomas Wolfe),
A portrait of the artist as a young man (James Joyce),
Several books by Mario Vargas Llosa, but not all I've read by him,
I like Turgenev,
I disliked Aitmatov's "Djamilja", but I highly recommend "The scaffold" or the "The place of the skull" (I just looked that name up in the English Wikipedia, I read in German under the name "Der Richtplatz"),
I love Carson McCuller's "The heart is a lonely hunter", her admiration for outsiders is beautiful and really humane.
I like Goethe and several (poem) poets like Forugh Farrokhzad, Sylvia Plath, Rimbaud...
When I was younger I also read some books by Steven King, some of which are really good. I enjoyed the Dark Tower series, I enjoyed "It", Mysery...
Also I really like Marjane Satrapi's "Persepolis" as well as "Poulet aux prunes", nice to practice your French :)
For some reasons I don't read as frequent as I used to in the past, but at least I try to work through some chess related books in the past. Still it's good to clear your mind up with a "real book".
Oh, and as the OP also mentioned non-fiction: I like books about politics and history.
Nice topic indeed.
