Puzzle #55581

When playing this puzzle, I opted for a variation where I get a free rook. 15 points were then deducted from my rating; I had failed the puzzle. When trying again, I discovered that the correct solution was to get my opponent's queen for my rook. How on earth is any human (especially one who isn't playing in the actual game) supposed to know that a queen for a rook (+4 points) is better than a free rook (+5 points) in that particular position?
