I have a simple suggestion that would remove a minor annoyance when setting up a position on the board editor -- both the tool at lichess.org/editor and the Editor tab when adding a chapter to a Study.
When moving the pieces, it would be really nice if the Castling checkboxes (White O-O, O-O-O, etc.) would uncheck themselves if the kings or rooks are moved. For example, if I move the king from e1 to e3, both checkboxes for White castling should be automatically unchecked. If I move the Ra8 to b8, the Black O-O-O box should be unchecked.
If the Standard variant is selected, castling eligibility can be easily determined if these pieces are not on their starting squares.
