Lichess Gear Competition

I really want to rock Lichess gear, but I kind of disappointed with the designs (obviously a subjective issue).

Would you guys consider hosting a "Design Cool Lichess Gear" competition to bring out some of the creativity in our chess community?

I would love to see something that incorporates the beauty and science of the game, not just a "Lichess.org" logo.

We've already tried that. We got a couple of decent designs out of it, but ultimately I think the competition was a failure.

Lichess users are chess enthusiasts, I don't think many of the users have the art skills to pull off making good entries. That said I have to agree with the part about the designs of the existing products in the merch being quite disappointing.

Clarkey, I never knew about the competition, If it wasn't I think it should be announced like the website does with the latest updates, so there will be more participants.

That's exactly what we did. Nothings stopping anyone from submitting additional designs, the same way people submit new designs for boards and pieces all the time. We don't really have much to offer in return besides a copy of the shirt of your design.
