How can you to make the mate only one knight?

I lost the game due to time. Maybe anybody knows how makes the mate only one knight? I am in perplexity.

I'm pretty sure, the engine can tell you what to do (or rather what not) - did you already tried an analysis of your game?

Fantastic))

The unfortunate consequence of no increment but if you manage to premove enough you can get to 50 moves. That would have been move 107 but you flagged on move 86.

You can hang the knight but you can't make your opponent take it.

In the above position it is possible for either player to be mated in the corner if they box themselves in with their own N. The opponent then delivers smothered mate with their N.

This is the reason why u should play 5+(increment) or 3+2 (instead of 5+0). Such that these timeouts can be avoided (although my 3+2 opponents regularly fall under timeout ) .

Right! But in this position,

87.Nf4 ...
88.Kg2 ...

is a draw.
