Take-back problem with castling move?

Greetings - I played some games vs the computer today. In one game I castled and it happened to be a bad blunder. So I took it back, played another move and wanted to castle after that. But it was not possible anymore. I am very sure that castling was legal - neither king nor rook moved, I was not in check, no castling squares were attacked. When I tried to move the king 2 squares (that is how I castle on lichess), it would just snap back to its original position.

Hope this is no duplicate. Quick search returned nothing of interest.

Edit: Just double-checked in another game. Definitely not working for me. It should though, right?

for example. But you cannot see the takebacks I made I believe. Anyhow, this was the game to make sure. I simply moved my pieces out of the way, castled, took back, tried to castle again.
