Open-source software is the model that will end corporatism/statism (providing enough people wake up). It is this switch from supporting and being dependent upon corporations (immoral and fictional 'legal' entities), interested in weaponizing technology for control and exploitation, to supporting and relying on a voluntary community effort to take responsibility for our own software that led me to switch to linux many years ago, and to generally reject proprietary software over open source whenever possible.

#1 Those Windows users who haven't even tried Linux have a more biased view and would probably prefer Windows! You need to try both first and see what you prefer, instead of assuming Linux is worse.
