More option on anon chat

Hello, I play mostly lichess as an anon and one thing that bougs me is that the chat is disabled...

I am against the notion of silencing people for the sake of preventing "cyber bulling" its text people... you just ignore it if you dont like what's written how could possible a line of text harm you unless you allow it? but I digress

Ok we have chat restrictions because of that... but lichess provides some buttons that print text before a match starts cant remember what exactly those buttons type but its in the nature of "hallo" or something like that basic stuff and I find this idea very good (as the lesser evil that is since as I mentioned I am ethically against silencing :P )

What I think that would make this even better is the addition of some more buttons and to be allowed to use them even during game for examples "yes" "no" or "miss-click" "please" "good move" "from?" "placeholder countries" "Takeback" "are you still there?" (in case you wait like 5 minuted for your opponent to move in a 10 minute game) etc

And you can also avoid potential spamming by not allowing each of those buttons to be pushed multiple times in a row or per a specific time frame.

It would make lot's of games easier and also add to the experience because us humans are social animals :)
Lichess is FREE, so what would be the downside of just signing in in order to chat? Why would more code be necessary when the solution is so easy.

Just sign in and take responsibility for all your chat content. Anonymous players cannot be penalized in any way if they misbehave in the chat. So, in order to prevent abuse, the chat for them is restricted / disabled, and imho it should stay that way.
This is the weirdest post i´ve read so far and it made no sense to me until i read your name, which explained everything.

So you use your account for posting in the forum but not for playing and you want like 20 buttons of preset chat messages instead of just typing them out in a few seconds.
What can i even say to that?

Edit: I read some of your other posts and they make even less sense. At least TRY to write half decent english and normal sentences if you take the time to write so many super long posts anyway, they are super confusing to read.
@Pashut Code already exists (they already have some chat buttons that print words just very few and not so useful so its just a matter of adding some extra text)

1) Why should I explain the reasons I personally play as an anon? Lichess provides the option to play chess anonymously and many people play there (judging from the less than a few seconds pairing time for a game) so its a legit way of using lichess aproved by the devs and created by them for a reason.

2) I dont play on the same device and I dont want to login just want to click on lichess and click on a game

3) I also like more unrated games because people are more "adventurous" cause they are not afraid to lose rating + there is an added benefit of facing people of higher rate than you which is also interesting and if they are lower sometimes its just funny to dominate :P

4) Yes you can play unrated games while having an account but the process is more troublesome you have to go to the lobby wait for that unrated game with the time limit you want somebody esle created to appear (and sometimes they dont have random colors so its bothering ) and then be fast enough to click on that before anybody else does, or go and make the settings for your own game as you want it and wait for somebody to join...

As where if you dont log in and just load lichess then directly on the loading page is the game pairing list where you click e.g 10 minute rapid and within seconds you have an opponent.

5) The reasons of the text needed are already stated or obvious example "missclick" (so that you can ask a takeback and the oponent understands the reason why you do so for example)

@SteveEricJordan I dont see why you have to be judgmental and insulting especially since you dont have any idea about what I am talking about...

on anon games you can not type text on chat... the only thing you are allowed to do is say "hi" "GL" "HF" by clicking on the corresponding buttons bellow the chatbox and that's only before the game starts once white makes a move then you cant even use the buttons anymore to say these basic 3 things...

as for the reasons playing anon I already explained them to an other user with equally small intention to collaborate/have a productive discussion rather than being belittling and equally small imagination.
@drunkenM4ST4 --

I hope you realize that your personal convenience is not the ONLY factor that counts when reviewing feature requests. Afaik, Lichess takes into account many things: how useful the feature is deemed by the community as a whole, the Lichess team's time/resources as coders, moderators etc., overall performance of the website, impact on the site's interface, code maintenance etc.

But if you feel so strongly about this, you can add it as an issue here: github.com/ornicar/lila/issues
Might take a while, but it should be evaluated eventually and the Lichess team will decide if it's worth implementing or not.

In any case, you are free to make whatever decisions suit you best. But the bottom line for the time being is simple: if you want more chat flexibility than what anonymous chat provides, LOG IN.
#1 We have already explained this multiple times in multiple forums, IRCs, Discord servers, etc. but can explain it again since perhaps you are new here.

Anonymous chat was only restricted after waves after waves of adbots which we did our best to suppress continued targeting Lichess. It's not an easy problem to solve and we did the best we could.
@Toadofsky

And you solved it by disabling it and adding those chat buttons like that's my point, just add a couple more of them, the fact that you had to explain this so many times as you said on your own only proves that people are interested in it and bothered its not there, so if the current system works then there is no reason not to expand it a little bit.

@Pashut
What does my personal inconvenience have to do? lots of people play anon games (i never waited more than a few seconds to pair in a game no matter what hour of the day) and the added buttons I proposed are not aimed at my personal interest unless I am the only one who has a miss-click or I am the only one who has had an opponent that took to much time to make a move and wanted to ask him if he is still there...

Maybe I am the only one mentioning the issue but as @Toadofsky there were many people before me talking about this so we are many.

So I dont see where you derived that this is about my personal inconvenience.
good lord, this hecking guy.

@drunkenM4ST4 there is not "many people like you" stop with your strawman arguments. the other people he was talking about were only asking why there is anon chat. you LITERALLY just said that you don´t even want anon chat. what YOU want is 20 extra chat buttons, which NO ONE ELSE wants. you are asking for the solution for your very specific use case scenario that only applies to you, because other people just LOG IN if they care about chat features, so it actually IS about your personal convenience.

there is a good reason why there is no anon chat, the fact that he had to explain the reason to some people doesn´t change anything about the fact that it´s the best solution.
20 extra chat buttons are directly contradicting the minimalist, clean and simple design aesthetic of lichess, more options aren´t always the right solution. and if hello and gg is the only interaction they want anons to have, because everything else would be exploited for toxicity, (it´s still the internet here) that makes total sense. don´t act like you are objectively right here, you are asking for something purely subjective and your opinion is wrong.

if you want chat features there is a simple solution other people already told you: USE THE ACCOUNT YOU ARE ALREADY USING FOR POSTING HERE EVERY DAY ANYWAY. it´s literally as easy as that. in the time you were writing these unnecessary posts you would have logged in into all devices in the world. you are just a special snowflake who needs special treatment and attention and wants to argue on the forums.

just leave it at that, it will stay how it is and that´s fine.
@drunkenM4ST4 -- Sorry, but I have better things to do with my time than to continue a pointless conversation.

You asked. You got your answers, including from @Toadofsky who is a Lichess developer. If you want a more conversational / social experience in the chat, log in. If you want anonymity, play anon and only use the 3-4 buttons that are there. Your choice.

Have a nice day!
