Abolishing timeout if aborting classical/rapid games

So, I just got timeouted for 8 hours because I aborted a classical game against a suspicious account (made relatively recently, provisional rating).
I know you are supposed to play every game you start, but I played against at least 20 people who got banned later for cheating in the last month, that I am very picky against whom I play - I simply dont want to waste time (or risk my rating) playing against those type of players.
I often abort 2-3 games before playing one and I would appeal to moderation that timeout rules in regard to classical/rapid games be taken more lightly - I really dont want to get banned permanently.
And before someone says: oh but just report them - I do. I have reported probably more than 20 users successfully (some of them I didnt even play). But playing a game, investigating the account, analyzing their games and writing a coherent report takes 30minutes -1 hour and I really dont want to spend that time every day.
So the moral is - don't abort games if you don't want to get punished for aborting games! Maybe investigate them before you start? Not for an hour - what are you doing? Going through their trash?
@MasterStudent Aborting when aborting is still an option, yes. Otherwise it's called resigning. But he said it takes an hour to play, investigate etc so it has to be happening after the game has started. I don't see how you can determine whether someone will later get caught cheating. If you think someone is cheating just resign and report them. What else can you do?
No I abort before the game because the alternative is spending 1 hour investigating and reporting. Even though I commend the speed and diligence of moderation, not all cheaters get caught. So I choose not to play against people who have only classical/rapid rating without any blitz/bullet (or who dont have a name in their profile).
Youd be amazed how many of them have I reported with success. I am getting tired of it.
Yes, I understand, but surely it takes literally 2 seconds to hover over their name and see their rating for each game type and whether it's provisional. I don't understand why you're spending so long doing it, and only doing it once the game has started. Doing it before the game starts would appear to solve all your problems!
@Doofenshmirtz why don't you just shut up its unfortunate you come from UK the HQ of English language and yet you don't get to understand what OP is saying.
A bit much @DevilWearsPradah.

It's simple: Either he aborts before the match starts because he recognizes it is a high probability of playing a cheater -> Potential 8 hour ban

OR

Play the game, report after and waste a total of at least an hour.

He is complaining that he loses either way. (Btw i totally get him, 2 out of my 3 last 15+15 lichess classical games were against players who later was confirmed to be cheaters.)
It would be nice if there was an option to exclude provisional ratings from game searches. ICC used to have that.
