Dear Lichess, please stop harassing players

The point is that the game presents a mechanism for starting the game which often leads you into several no-shows on the other side in a row. When I try to escape from that situation _through a mechanism a game presents_ (Abort button), I am being punished / ostracized.

It has nothing to do with how the game handles the other side.
#11 We're being awfully liberal with use of the term "no-show", equivocating that with an opponent who doesn't move fast enough for my preference.

My own opinion is that if the opponent is not connected, it should be possible to abort without consequence. But if an opponent is connected (but just hasn't moved as fast as I want them to) I should be warned and possibly penalized for hastily aborting games.

Yes, there is a possibility of an opponent reconnecting as I abort, but if that occurs often it's at least partially my fault for being so impatient as to not wait a few seconds for the auto-abort.
Yup; Im getting it too.
One time I mistyped my password.
Lichess told me Invalid username or password and wouldnt let me in.

Stop harassing users lichess.

@Oscillations

Your #Metoo though; lmao.
We are missing the real issue here which is that Lichess seems to have turned #11 into an ostrich. This is unacceptable.

This actually works as @Toadofsky wrote: if the opponent is out of the game (gray icon), you can abort the game without a warning message.
leftflank couldn't take anymore of Lichess' harassment and closed his account.
I hope you're happy, Lichess.
