Pawns facing direction of travel

I know you will all laugh to read this, but could it be possible to change the graphic (as an option - this idea freaks lots of players out) so the pawn points in the direction of travel? Just a suggestion. I know many who would find this very helpful.
I think for beginner players this isn't as ludicrous of an idea as I initially thought. In endgames in can certainly be confusing for beginners about which way the pawns are going. Depending on how extreme the process is to implement this (I don't do computers like that), I don't see the harm in allowing that as an option.
It's better to encourage new users to get used to the existing representation of pawns as static upright snowman thingies. This iconography is used in most (if not all) computer chess implementations.

Otherwise we will generate a whole subclass of users who demand inverted pawns. It would be like the flight sim dudes from the 80s who are responsible for invert Y axis being a preference in every shooter. Chaos!

P.S. I'm not judging, I invert Y on shooters too.
I mean, yours move forward, your opponent's move backward relative to you... you push towards your opponent your opponent pushes towards you. Learn it once and you should be good it's not changing anytime soon...
It's a good idea actually. I have really tried by creating a set up after programming such a board and playing on it. But since my habit is using the normal one, so I came back to it!
