Adverse Feedback

If someone wants to play only games, Lichess is perfect but in the case of forums i'll give negative feedback.

(1) Blocking option is not useful actually because on some other sites if OP blocks a person, that blocked person will not be able to write anything in the thread of OP but Lichess doesn't provide this facility.

(2) Some members are only here to disturb others and they write on threads just to start an argument, some of my threads closed because those kind of people spoiled my topics.

(3) When we want to avoid conflict, we block some people and try to ignore them but if they continue write something bad about us, there is no option to stop them.

(4) On some other sites there are so many moderators who talk with community members in the situation of solving issues but here i couldn't find any moderator who can listen both sides in a friendly way. They only close threads, don't control bad behaviour of trolls. May be they don't have enough time for this but Lichess should find more ways to solving this problem.

In conclusion, features of Lichess is good to learn chess and to improve games but not sufficiant options in the forums.

There is no option to stop them in the public forums because you have no right to stop people to express their opinion in public forums. But there is the option to create a group and groups have their own forums. Only members of the group can post there. If you are the admin of such a group you can kick people you dont like from the group.

Did you use public forums on other sites? I used so i know there are OP has some extra facility to control a thread because sometimes it is good to maintain a track where we are able to stay on the topic. This is not about a group, this is about forums where some people are writing only to make upset a specific person, as i have seen some cases so it is good to change some features here also like other chess sites.
I understand it is tough for some people to adopt changes but if we we can use blocking options in our thread to stop trolling, there will be less argument and conflict.

@Searchingyou well, as i said, there is already an option to create groups. You want to be heared by everybody but you dont want to grant others that right.

Work on your communication skills and less people will argue with you. Looking at your forum history you are constantly complaining about people being bad to you and admins being bad to you, and you constantly go on the nerves of mods, as if they were there only for you.

Maybe you make the errors, not the others. The massive downvotes some of your posts get suggest that.

As you said yourself in another post: " to knowing myself is the most interesting for me". Good maxime.

Changes should be because OP is the person who starts a conversation on a specific subject.... it can be a thought or an idea or feeling about something... may be some other person don't understand what OP wants to share in a public forum or what is the actual reason to discuss a particular matter and those other people who coludn't understand the point of view of original poster, they start to make unnecessary issues just for argument so in this situation it is very important for OP to control thread in a positive direction.... that's why blocking features should be changed.... my threads on other sites reach near about 3000 comments without any conflict because there op has extra facility but on Lichess only 50 comments and thread goes out of control... the result will be "topic closed" and extra burden on moderators to close topics. If we give this extra blocking power to OP, no need to disturb mods also for small argument or other issues.... just people who can't agree on some topics, they can choose their different threads to discuss.... A group can be small to discuss nice things and everyone who is not in a group, they can't read group discussion so need to change blocking features in the forums to make Lichess better....

@Searchingyou Would suggest this over DM, but you have apparently blocked me (not sure why, exactly, but regardless).
Since it does appear that you unapologetically wish to have the ability to prevent responses, and you have consistently ignored the recommendations to start a team, why don't you use your biography on your lichess profile page as an alternative to posting? That way, it doesn't become an issue: nobody can "troll" you, you don't have to worry about mods closing topics, you don't bother those who don't want to read it, you may get more readers than you would with a team...it's a win-win situation.

@Searchingyou You will create filterbubble threads, and people will not be aware of that. They will have the impression that this filtered collection of opinions represents the public opinion, which is not the case. I do not support that. Groups are for filtered discussions, public forums are for free speech (within the lichess terms of service - lichess.org/terms-of-service ).

@tictactactic I didn't want to explain you more after reading your post #6 but just want to say two things.

First, don't judge others on the basis of downvotes because 20 or 30 downvotes don't prove that you're wrong. It is just because those 20 people are not agree with you.

Second, my communication skills is enough good and may be problem is somewhere else when people want to argue with me but i say clearly to stop argue with me and they feel rudeness.... some people feel bad when i block them but it is also because i don't want to communicate with them and want my own peace.... i don't write only on forums, this is just my hobby but my profession is different and i have no time to discuss always in the forums.... and if a person is complaining about something, it doesn't mean that person is wrong... today i'm saying to change blocking features and may be after some time others will think about it and features will be changed like other sites....
