The Pepe flairs were removed. Why?

There was a post on the forum a while ago asking why the flying spaghetti monster flair was removed.

Today I login and see that my cute feelswowman flair was removed.

I understand removing religious flairs due to ideological reasons but why remove these? Now there aren't any cool flairs left, only lame emoji flairs.

I'm sorry my fellow Pastafarian, Lichess decided to remove all flairs related to religions, to avoid tensions - something they tend to create.

That includes the icon of the Holy Pasta, our sacred Flying Spaghetti Monster, who boiled for our sins and keeps the planets in orbit.

I hope the Pepe LePew flairs are still extant.

I have not followed this discussion closely; but my understanding is that these flairs and some others were removed because of unclear licensing status.

There are Horsey flairs. Horsey has been known to peruse the forums. Horsey doesn't forget . . .

Luckily there is only one flair football. imagine if they had authorized the logo of club like Manchester United and that of Manchester city... or every club who have a derby. for those for whom football is like a religion, it could smell the repressed hooliganism in the chats ! (Joking)
