played some games and my queen and opponents queen were invisible

Played three games where I could not see either my own queen or my opponents queen but evidently my opponents could see the queens, I thought it was some variant I hadn't heard of because it was in a club blitz tourn - I then joined an arena and it happened again. The problem stopped when I joined the blitz pool but I was too tilted by then - has anybody else encountered this issue?

Or is it random queen invisibility day and I'm just not aware of it?

Looked at the games in question and the queens are visible now but they weren't at the time so, sadly can't give a screenshot - one game I lost 31 rating points which was a bit annoying.
