A simple qiestion which some can't answer

Yep, when I pricked my finger as a kid, I just instinctually licked it like the good ape that I was. And from then on, it continued if the wound was small. We facilitate the clotting of our blood by doing that. Some other animals also clean their wounds doing that.

lol even smelling own fart has to do with self protection. Notable repulsion by own waste is one's body's way of telling something's wrong as far as I know.
