Additional Timer for each Move

It frequently happens to me that I use 5 minutes (or more) for one single move, when playing rapid. In addition a clock counting the time of my move would increase very much the stress of my game. I don't like this request.
An additional timer would heavily increase the number of possible time controls and make it difficult for the system to find two players who want the same three numbers at the same time.

The fact, that is hasn't been tried anywhere before, doesn't mean, this is a bad idea.

So what should I do, when my opponent decides not to play anymore after making some moves? The only option I have is to wait until the end (10 mins), otherwise I will lose that game.
I haven't seen it used anywhere, but I haven't looked around for it. more of a random related idea than anything
You generally have the right to use your clock however you want. Spending a lot of time on a few moves is generally not the best idea but plenty of legitimate players still do it all the time. If they actually disconnect, the game will be forfeited after a short time.

And if they let their time run out often, they will get banned. There's an automatic system that handles this but you can ofc also additionally report them yourself as well.

I don't think there's much more that can reasonably be done. Enforcing a short time limit for each move for everybody clearly isn't an option and I don't think it makes much sense to allow it as an additional setting.
How about an additional option like this: 10+5+x (x>=0)
So people can decide, if they want to have a time limit for their move, just like they can decide, if they want an increment after each move.
So it can be 10+5+0 (no change compared to what we have now) or 10+5+30, 10+5+60 etc.
