Last tournament I went to there were maybe 50 players in the open section, and the average age was probably 14. I'd love for there to be some ALTO in my area.
Like you said, losing to kids doesn't matter to me at all. That's been part of the game since forever, but you can't talk to kids (at least for me it's uninteresting and annoying) so like you said there's no socializing.
