I wasn't flexing anything. There is simply no feasible way to return the points that have been lost. So the answer was and still is a simple no.
People suggesting to do this and that should either try to do this themselves or leave it up to professionals.
There is obviously mitigation in place for planned downtime, but when it isn't planned... a server cannot predict its own crashes. This isn't a Minority Report.

I've had other times where I got points back because a player had been banned, so the technology exists to return points to players. I assumed it would be similar to this.
