When it goes to Chess960 and some other "less played" variants, almost no one plays it, while Arena and tournaments require like 20+ games :-(
When and how should people get these?

It's easier, when it goes to Crazyhouse, as some people still play it (but not too many, I often have problems to play it, as either people are higher rated and don't want to play with me or there are almost no games / no at all)

Yes, this is screenshot from lobby including 5 game variants. And this is how it looks almost every time time check: up to few games at time, usually from Atomic mode. Usually like 3-5 games, but sometimes even only 1 or 0....

Why am I so "salty" and even bother to write something like this?

Because this is 3-rd or 4-th Chess960 arena that I want to participate in, but I can't, as I don't even have enough of the games played. And I really do have problems getting these, as there is barely anyone playing these.
I missed 2 Crazyhouse tournaments for the very same reason, until I finally managed to farm these wins.

Maybe we could sometimes have tournaments that are free-for-all and people can get these 20+ wins? Or it's just my luck and whenever I play, only the ones with 20+ requirement are up?

I would be glad to hear your opinion on that. I think that tournaments are a very good occasion to gather people together and play less popular chess variants, maybe make them more interested in these... but isn't it sometimes even counterproductive, if they can't even play these, because not having enough games played? And it's a real "chore" to farm these 20+ wins, as almost no one plays these modes, while people could get the wins during tournaments and get more interested in the game mode itself.
