I don't think the sicilian is objectively better. The bonus #1 is not true. (IMO)
#2: If by, 'objectively better,' you mean, 'better with perfect play,' then you're probably correct. But that's not what this blog is about; it's about human play. And in terms of human play, we can see that the Sicilian is the strongest reply to 1. e4.

Even in human play, No! 1. ... e5 is equal. (Again, that's just my opinion.)
