changed password, but somehow username changed as well

I used to be BogusAurelius and i had lost my password.
I found where i could reset the password, but somehow how my previous handle
is changed to my real name ( edrosenthal)
and i cannot change it back.
Notifications to me are gone, so i'd like it back.
I am assuming that you have two accounts: one by the name of edrosenthal and the other by the name of BogusAurelius. In that case I am assuming that your two accounts are linked to two different email ids. So maybe you chose the incorrect email which was linked to edrosenthal to reset your password and that's why you can only log in as edrosenthal. I would suggest trying to reset your password with your other email and see if you can log in as BogusAurelius. If it does not work, just let me know.
@edrosenthal By "handle" do you mean username? You can not change a username so @bogusaurelius and @edrosenthal are completely different accounts, so you must have logged in to the wrong one, that's why your notifications are gone.

To rest your password go to lichess.org/login and select "Password Reset"

and then enter the email that is associated with the right account, the one that you forgot the password for @BogusAurelius

Check your email, and click the link in the email which will allow you to change your password.
I don't know what happened. I don't think i have two accounts. Years ago i changed the name once. And when i tried to change the password, it changed my username as well. And now it seems impossible to get my old handle back. When i use the login dialogue with my handle that i want to use, and use a password, it gives the error of wrong password ( or maybe wrong username?), and when i use the reset and receive it, and try to reset, it uses my real name again instead of my handle. Unless there is some wizard behind the database that can fix it, i don't think i can solve it on my own...
