Hi guys, i like to play variants a lot and was looking at leaderboard to see how top players play their games to improve, especially in racings kings
1st place: lichess.org/@/Personal-Universe/all
so this guy just played 50 games lifetime in 0+1 mostly, and now play 1 game per month vs a 1500? to keep his placement
is this 1st place deserved ? not really
2nd place: lichess.org/@/MariusCiprian1/search?perf=17
this guy has played 9 games of racing kings in the last 5 months
is this 2nd place deserved ? not really
3rd place: lichess.org/@/Esgor/search?perf=17
this guy played... 4 games in the last 11 months
is this 3nd place deserved ? not really
meanwhile at 4th place: lichess.org/@/The_Skinny_Panda/search?perf=17
who played yesterday 3 hours tournament and crushed everyone
is this 4th place deserved? yes! is he the best racing kings players at the moment? probably!
Same in King of the Hill:
1st place lichess.org/@/WKurogane/search?perf=12
4 games in 4months in the variant...
Well on the others variant, most players play everyday
So i would just suggest, that to keep people on the leaderboard they have to play at least 10 games per month vs players that have a definitive elo on the variant, to avoid people sitting on top10 since a year by playing just 1 game per month vs a new player
cheers,
