Ok, so I follow @/cottageindustries. ( idk why)And today I got a message kind of thingy saying that “cottageindustries is a lichess patron for 39 months”. This might seem normal, but if you go onto cottageindustries account, it says that they have not been active for 2 years.
How is this possible? Did someone (like lichess) gift them a patron?
Yes, it is probably someone that gave them the wings

But it doesn't make sense, who would gift a patron to somebody that wasn't online since 2 years ago?

It does make sense, you can give the wings to anyone, even if he/she was active 7 years ago.
They probably gifted it to him 39 months ago and it still is showing up.

No. On their profile we can see that they supported Lichess for 39 months since July 28 (today).
@danielBEST i think cottageindustries has something to do with lichess staff, for like testing, but I’m not sure.
I think the best explaination is that you can donate to lichess without logging in. It will still charge your credit card every month until you log back in and change your payment plan.
