[feature-request] Introduce countries flags for for most users

Firstly, the play becomes more interesting when you know where your opponent is. Secondly, output the flags to a position near players names — makes the design better.
Now many users don't know where where adjust the country.
How to realize: in the next Lichess update with first-player enter ask country and city (on request, of course). After that we can see the country of opponent.
A big request to evaluate the offet.
Thanks :)

@VelociraptorRex It's a great idea, but some users just don't want to show their nationality and will probably put a flag of a nationality that is not theirs.

This is just my opinion, but your idea is excellent!
@Francesco_Super Well, if someone don't want to show his nationality — no problem, isn't necessarily. About wrong flags — yes, it's a problem, but I don't think that many players will specifically put wrong flags and anyway it's better than just empty profile :)

Thank you all that appreciated the idea, I'm glad that not me only thinks so! :)
Unnecessary. A player can post his profile on his board.. Just look at chess.com (as I'm sure which ur all aware off.) A conservative estimate is 50% of the flags are false. People either don't want to reveal or they think it's funny to be from Easter Island.
Just another added "feature" that lends itself to abuse. Verification is not practical, why advertise something that has a high chance of being deceptive?
The recent feature, 35 seconds to start a game, gives ample time to check a players profile.
A 2nd possible negative is, a Flag is observed and players abort games or make negative comments based on a location that may or may not be true.
It's a great idea, but unfortunately too many drawbacks.
Asks: why is play more interesting when you "think" you know where a player is from? What difference is there?
@mdinnerspace Well, I think correct flags is about of 80-85% because I've met at chess.com lots of people who has name, surname, city and country (like little-known city from India with 150 000 population) — I think, fake-people from Easter Island will'nt bother so. Besides, what sense of this feature when all of people puts incorrect flags? But I'm hoping that large part players on Lichess is sane people.
Now I say about players who not against put flag but don't know how to do it/hasn't time for it or sth. else. I think then playing on Lichess becomes more interesting. But everybody has a different opinion, it's clear.
Why is play more interesting based on the person's nationality?
Your estimate of 80-85% is based on trust or validation?
50% + of usernames at CC have been changed, playing with new accounts. Quite trusting is it to assume their flags are 85% legit.
I like the idea but it just seems a bit redundant considering users can post their nationality on the profiles already and so many of 'em are false.
@mdinnerspace 1. Maybe that's just me (I'd like geography) but several people have the same opinion, so I can assume that it's really more interesting.
2. Validation. I'm friends with many people and I know exactly where they are from. Maybe someone put the incorrect flags but I know about only several cases.
But where did you get such statistics?
