As in the case of username's too , if the username is changed , it affects the game history of that person and the person to whom he/her played........... Same is here , teams so take part in team battles which when changed , will also affect those tournaments and database.......

well chess.com has it editing the team name, even if the team has team matches, the name will be changed
why can't lichess do it too?

@LGL_Leaders That is on Chess.com not in Lichess , dont compare 2 websites if chess.com have its good for them so why shud lichess copy that?

I did not compare just saying about it.
Well it would be useful and its not copying as most of the sites which has teams are able to rename the teams name

It is not possible to change the usernames or team names.

It is possible, but we have some interruptions.
The tournaments and team battles change the team name. Not good.
I don't really sure if @Lichess allows this.
