Voyager 2 has entered interstellar space..

@SquidBilly
Voyager will find only one 'end': its own end when its three radioisotope thermoelectric generators finally fail. It has nowhere near the power or transmission range (or the sheer *time*, and neither do we) to find and report on the 'end', if such a thing even exists.

There is something called the 'observable universe', which is the volume of space contained within a radius equal to the distance light has traveled since the theoretical Big Bang. If there is anything beyond the leading edge of this sphere, it is unknowable by us. Add to this the accelerating expansion of the universe, and you'll see why the 'end' is not a real thing; for us anyway.

We are pretty well constrained to a finite volume of space that we may interact with; constrained by the thus-far ironclad limit of c. It is certainly debatable that we may sidestep this absolute limit; but that's a difficult argument to discuss. The 'In A Nutshell' series of videos has a nice one on this subject... let me see if I can find a link... ah.

Interesting topic though. Thanks for the post.

nice video to the point . AS we are limited indeed.. yes the end will be when the crafts lose power and fail. the knowledge we get from them is priceless as we probably wont ever see in our lifetimes another mission to interstellar space ever again.. its just incredible the day and age these were put up that they still send data....

I dont see or believe humans in the current state of there evolution can leave this planet.

But it very interesting as to what all we are missing and whats missing us :)
I totally agree with your first statement: 'the knowledge we get from them is priceless...'

I find the fact that the Voyagers were launched in the mid-70's to be astonishing as well.

But don't be so defeatist! We are certainly *able* to leave the planet, as evidenced by the fact that we have; the gravity well of Earth is no longer an insurmountable wall. We just have to make the decision, as a world, to throw resources at space development.

Shit maybe you're right. :/ Nah just kidding! We will get there, probably not in our lifetimes, as you say, but we will.

@SquidBilly
'm not interested in your theoretical 'limits' as you are wont to use in describing absolutely everything but most ironically of all infinity! lol! de ha ha ha ha ha!

Here, I'll share with you then we'll see..

So starting at the Planck volume: if it has volume then it could be measured at half again right? I don't know but that's apparently the low bound on particular physics at which point there is no law!
Woo Hoo!
Free for all if you can get down there!

with a nuclear strong and weak force and the weak understanding we have of them or of all the forces all we do know is that the laws of physics are dramatically different at our livable observable scale, newton's scale, and again as look into what we perceive as flat space at least for 46 billion light years again we find a shift in the governing laws.

now all these are part of one system, as far as we know, we call universe, meaning one, just desperately trying lump everything together and then purport of subscribe to and hold fast through the generations that there is a holy grail law of physics mythical and wonderful like dangerous deadly unicorn is soo special -ha ha ha ha hah aha- that is gonna be all inclusive and sum up how everything works. that's a lot stupider than thinking 'well one good policy manual with instructions should be all you will ever need for all your products and the assemblies required thereof and warranty information proof of purchase, plus all of Shakespeare....should i go on? Stupid idea unified field theory [God slaps his forehead, "Ohhh! I really shoulda thought of that! Damn! God Damn! -ah ha ha hah ah ah a- That's a good idea. Man. next universe is workin' on one rule, baby!" ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

So what does all this have to do with limits?

Good question

I assert as we have briefly examined the Universe at 3 scales which represent all we can perceive with all our might. Why would we ever think that's it? Based on what? Based on what I can see as you spread out super-astronomically farther again into the next focus and boss laws of physics that another strange and mysterious wonderful beautiful amazing revelation of a level of this endless host of life. I believe it all has bearing on life to life and that indeed life is the point of the universe and not vice versa. so no limits. sorry there's no room in the universe for limits

Another nice point the visible universe makes is this: (and by the way this is the largest message in nature. nature speaks and this is big one) so the incomprehensible estimated 90 billion light years diameter, expanding FASTER than light, is a distance we measure through mathematics telescopes and thank god, crystal clear perfect clean space...if there were one spec of dust per 200,000 light years or a millionth billionth percent of humidity then it would appear too hazy and we could not see to the 'end'. But we Can! that's purposeful when you consider 'What are we supposed to do with that measure now?' the only thing for sure is it is incomprehensible absolutely and no revelation or system of thought focus hypnosis study in scales or comparison after comparison by any means that will ever assist a man at conceiving of the distance as literal volume. But we can measure it? how? the message is: don't get hung up trying to understand everything. If fact you can't understand. It's impossible. So don't worry about it. You won't miss a thing. I promise, look life means everything and you don't need to understand that to get all of it. It's better to live pure and simple. Don't be afraid of confidence just don't cop an attitude with a dum dum.

oh yeah....and everything that bears meaning holds infinite description value! Everything is infinite you just have to keep looking to see more....just like chess and 10 to the 120th power possible variations...ridiculous!
.
eat those limits kids! ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
As long as it does not find the machine planet and becomes V'Ger, we should be good.
