My experience on lichess:
Ok, might as well start with previous experience: I first played chess sometime in 4th or 5th grade? My friends taught it to me. I played....well, some chess. I just played it for fun, in fact, I never even had ANY formal education on chess. The only openings I know are Queen's pawn and King's pawn, so....😅 yeah I'm a noob.
I first got introduced to lichess last year sometime in November or October when I signed up for my after school chess club. Since it's virtual learning, we used an online site instead of chess boards (obviously). That was also the first time I played chess online.
So, here's the thing: I tried using my school account to sign up for lichess. When you sign up, lichess sends you an email to confirm your account.
Just one problem.
I completely forgot that my school blocks any emails from people outside the school district email (also doesn't let me send emails to people outside school). So, the account confirmation email was blocked 😂 and I had no idea why I didn't get it. But whatever, I played chess without an account. I did the puzzles, I joined games, I played stockfish, I browsed through the forums.
It wasn't until just less than a month ago (April 13th) that I managed to create my account. I still play chess just for fun.
Now here's some background information: I never played chess with any time limit before lichess (how to set a time when you're playing on a chess board?). So I'm completely bad at bullet and blitz. Too bad for me because so many of the tournaments are bullet and blitz. My bullet is at 955, I hope to improve. I try to play mostly rapid and classical, and slowly increase my skill.
And........not much else to say. I made a few friends on lichess. I joined teams, learned how things work, etc. In seven days I'll have been on lichess for a month.
And, of course, my experience on lichess was amazing 😄
