The term "antichess" makes me think of "Anti-king chess":
http://www.chessvariants.com/diffobjective.dir/anti-king-chess.htmlI think it should be renamed to a different name
Clearly about as many people are aware that anti-king chess is a thing and are reminded of it just like you as people regularly play suicide chess under the name antichess and are not fazed one bit, therefore I agree with you.
Lichess mods, please update the site.
Suicide and Anti-chess are two different things to the best of my knowledge. One is sacrifice everything including your king. The other is sacrifice everything but keep your king safe without getting checkmated.
I don't think we should rename it to suicide chess (or losers chess), because these names are already known from FICS and they have a slighly different meaning than antichess on Lichess.
Antichess (as on lichess): forced capture, lose all your pieces (incl. king) to win, check(mate) doesn't exist, you can't castle. Stalemate is a win for the stalemated.
Suicide chess (as on FICS): same, HOWEVER, in case of a stalemate, the player with FEWER pieces wins.
Losers chess (as on FICS): forced capture, lose all pieces (excl. king) to win, check(mate) exists, if you're stalemated or checkmated then you win.
I like Antichess name alot better than suicide chess.
please dont change it
@ya boy agent, ure talking about losers chess
every player on lichess uses the word Anti to refer to the game
changing the name wouldnt change that, it would just make things confusing.
@Dragon-Lord Possibly they could put it in brackets in another name.
Lichess could change it to Antichess/Suicide rather than just one or the other?
Technically, Antichess is a unique ruleset most similar to Giveaway chess but without castling rights in the initial position.
