How many bots are there on lichess
Are they real robots?
And can they join teams and compete in tournaments/simuls/teambattles?
These are chess engines, software implementations, not real robots as Lichess periodically show picture of a robot and a girl playing chess... In urban call, these engines are robots, or BOTs in short.

The human who implemented BOT here (behind the BOT's username) chat with you, not computer software. He is not connected all the time nor control the engine, it probably set parameters only once and that is it. Not a mistery at all.
