I don't wanna brag, but Jefffo and I crossed paths when both of us independently decided to streak during a team blindfold chess tournament in Singapore. Each chess player was blindfolded, but was paired with a dog that would bark out the moves in canine notational form.
The crowd loved it! Now me and Robbie Coltrane were getting drunk off our tits on Penicillin Cocktails, when he turns to me and says, "Yer a wizard, chummer, and ten dollars richer - if you ken make it across in the bare scud!" So I took off all my clothes, drank Robbie's drink for luck, and took off at full stretch!
Halfway through, Robbie's words echoed through my head. "Chummer," I said. "Yer a wizard!"
So what the hell - I grabbed my tadger and started to cast a confundus spell!
Small world, Jeffforever was streaking towards me from the opposite direction! I never would have recognized him, except for the giant "MR REVER" tattooed across his chest!
I must have gotten my spell wrong, because at this point one of the seeing eye dogs mistook my wand for a chew toy. I passed out around that point, and when I came to I was lying in a hospital, wrapped in bandages like King Tut himself, with a tenner on the side table.
That's how I learned Hagrid was a man of his word, and that's how I met - however briefly - Jefffo Rever.
