Why have advertisement PMs soared in recent weeks?

Hard to explain really, as there can be thousands of reasons
Reasons like:
more people joined lichess
maybe more people just feel the need to advertise
maybe just more people are bored
or maybe they want more horseys from you
Anyway, idk why is this causing this because people also flood my pm as well

I thought it was the opposite? most people in 2019 didnt even know about teams in 2020 when many people found about this without knowing they sent people advertisements but now people know the rules and they have to agree to them when they make an account

I think lichess can implement something like whenever a user sign up to an account to "force" the user to read the TOS as that's what many applications do(games, apps). Also, lichess can implement something like a counter of how many offenses a user has done. Because most people at least what I've seen are first-time offenders who don't know the TOS or forum etiquette. So if lichess "forces" new users to read the TOS, maybe we can avoid this
