Women's College Hoops: Sweet 16.

Still doesn't have the same feel.
I can't put my finger on it-- maybe it's simply because the blocks are higher in the air due to height-- but I feel that the defensive plays in men's are more fun.
This ain't your grandpappy's Women's round ball, folks. These fine young ladies got game. It's a bit different from the men. But a panther's a bit different from a lion, too.

Picking a U-tube of Paige Bueckers was perfect, @Cassiodorus . Thank you.

I'm confident that, with time, @clousems dependable good judgment will prevail, and he'll come around.
My local school U of O woman's team was 92 wins 15 losses over 3 years while I was there, now they're last place division :o

So, I'm gonna be honest I didn't really start watching the WNBA until last year when I was kinda desperate to watch any semblance of basketball b/c my fav NBA team, the Pacers, are on this stupid streaming service called Bally Sports and I'm not someone who'll subscribe to a service JUST to watch one team when I can just try to catch 'em when they happen to be on TNT or ESPN (I stream stuff using Hulu and a couple other services cobbled together). Indiana's WNBA team, the Fever, stream their games on Facebook live.

I'm a woman and I kinda thought women's basketball was boring. Started watching the Fever last year and it's really not boring, it's just different. There's not going to be the exciting dunks but to me that's the only real difference and dunks don't happen all the time in NBA. I still enjoyed watching their games.

That said - I'm also from Indiana and grew up watching Reggie Miller era Pacers and while I don't follow college basketball most of my family are IU (Hoosiers) fans, throw in being a band geek in HS and being in pep band (meaning going to basketball games) and I've seen basketball at all levels. Our pep band would go to the girls' games as well as the boys' games. It's all fun to watch, IMO (well I last went to a HS game in 2014 three years after I graduated and then only b/c my school was going to the state championship for the second time and we'd won the championship the year before.), just different.

There's something that's basically unexciting about the WNBA. I can't really name it -- maybe it's that they have too few teams, or their playoffs are too short. I would prefer to watch women's college ball over the WNBA. Commentators have put forth hopes that eventually Caitlin Clark will change the WNBA.
I predict Caitlin Clark will have a plan B if she does not enjoy WNBA. She has been an excellent student.

Hey, that's fine, not every sport/league is for everyone!

I don't think it's ever helped that their season is in the summer during the NBA's off-season. I get why it's like that, a lot of the teams use the same arena as the NBA team in their city if the city has an NBA team, but, most people probably aren't thinking about watching basketball in June or July.

I think what people mean when they hope Clark changes the WNBA is that she brings some fans to the league and gets people excited and maybe starts getting it on more equal footing. just by being a celebrity player, with the NBA in terms of following, salaries, etc.
