no, but theres Crazyhouse which you can drop pieces you captured just like Shogi.

Thanks, but I think white is winning initially in crazyhouse, the pieces are too powerful for the drop on the board size (although of course in teams chess (2 x 2 crazyhouse where you drop your partner's opponent's prisoners) it cancels out).
