I don't get the banning thing as well. Especially because site allows you to artificially inflate ratings by filtering lower rated players out of your game.
Agreed. The ability to filter ratings is asking for rating inequality. And banning people for aborting games is only trying to cover up the problem and not address it directly. When I've played the 1500 provisional players it's +2 points for a win and -24 points for a loss. Meanwhile if he wins he'll be getting several hundred points at a time that would have taken me (a seasoned player on the site) weeks to earn from other regulars. And then I get banned for not wanting to play a provisional player?
ratings don't matter as much as some people on this thread seem to think they do. Stop getting hung up on what your rating is and
a) get a life
or
b) just enjoy the game
